No denying it, YouTube has become one of the premier artistic platforms of our age. It's got everything. Poetry, book trailers, music videos, dancing, animated shorts, all of it. Even us writers, whose medium is the written word rather than video, can find an overwhelming amount of beauty and inspiration. Here are some of my favorites:
And even some incredible educational videos that also manage to be entertaining:
I know that's a lot of videos, but they are all SO WORTH IT. Take some time this weekend and enjoy.
The real reason I wanted talk about this, though, is to get recommendations. So take a minute and browse through your watch history and your likes and your favorites and tell me: Who are your favorite YouTube artists? What videos have most inspired you? Which do you come back to again and again?

I'm not a real Youtube buff, usually only if I have some specific clip I'm hunting down. But to just cruise through them and watch isn't my thing. The only time I ever do that is if I want to catch outtakes/bloopers from some of my favorite shows LOL. Silly.
"From Sarah, With Joy" has been included in the Sites To See for this week. Be assured that I hope this helps to point many new visitors in your direction.
Oh my gosh. I love you forever for embedding the How to Be Alone video. I saw that maybe a year ago and I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I've never been able to find it since! YUSS!
I enjoy watching vlogs, just because it's so laid back and personal. I love finding youtubers who are positive and pleasant to listen to. I also enjoy the occasional rant, but not a mean-spirited one.
I get really excited when there's something new from Julian Smith, Lindsey Stirling or Ryan Higa. I've been getting into book bloggers like CassJayTuck, BooksandQuills and Katytastic.
Did you know I started a channel a month or so ago? I'd love it if you stopped by: http://www.youtube.com/user/ctylervision
I love Youtube. I found The Inkspots this year, they were a group from the 40's, with Bill Kenny as the lead singer,If I Didn't Care, Always, I Don't Want To Set the World On Fire, all of these are so good and I had no idea about them! The only one of these that I knew was the God and Dog video, it's a very good one.
I really enjoy Meytal Cohen's drum cover videos. I think she is a fantastic young talent. I have a page on my blog dedicated to some of my favorites. I also like a lot of the Adorama photography videos. And today I was watching some GIMP tutorials since I have had the program on my computer for over a year and never opened it!! Love all the Alice In Chains unplugged vids and the MEtallica Mexico City tour is just freakin' kickass. Sorry...I'll stop now.
I'm a comedy Youtuber... I pretty much only go on when I need a laugh or when I want to watch epic animal battles, so my favorite channels are RhettandLink and BadLipReading. So amazing!
I absolutely love hearing from you! Thank you so, so much for your thoughts and comments, they really do make my day. Consider yourself awesome. Also, I do my best to respond to every comment within 24 hours, so I invite you to come back and continue the conversation :)
