Picking ONE and ONLY ONE favorite movie (or book) is so impossible its ridiculous. However. If someone asked me if I could watch only one movie ever for the rest of my life, my answer could quite possibly be:
Its long, yes, (about 4 hours) but so worth it its ridiculous. And Toby Stephens. Oh help my melting single soul. Did I mention its ridiculously good?

Funny, when I first read "only one", I immediately thought, "I'd pick a long one.". It really is hard to narrow it down. But I have never seen your favorite. I will have to give it a try.
I love this version as well. Toby Stephens is ridiculously handsome for Rochester but it's all good. I think in Jane's eyes, Rochester is handsome in his own ways.
I've never seen this, but I've read the book a few times in my life..looks like a good film!
I love the 2000 mini series 'Anna Karenina', based on the Tolstoy novel...it's long too, but worth it!
This is my favorite version of Jane Eyre. It's very good.
Ive heard about this film but I have not seen it yet so now I'm going to see it! :) Thanks Sarah! :)
I love Jane Eyre, but I haven't seen this version ... I'll have to set aside some time to watch.
Ruby at Blabbin' Grammy gave me a couple of blog awards and I'm passing them on to a couple of my favorite bloggers, so if you need a little more decoration come on over and collect your awards!
My favorite movie is Sabrina! But I do love Jane Ayre as well.
Wow Sara, your blog is beautiful! So glad you found me so I could find you! My daughter and I are huge Jane Eyre fans, but we didn't know about this version. Yipee and thanks.
I did love this movie! Its too bad that is was somewhat like the Harry Potter films in the fact that is was a more than a bit untrue to the book. Regardless, ur are right! its an amazing movie! u have good taste!
Glad you guys liked it :) @LA, you're right, there are some discrepancies with the book, but only changes that make the story work better as a movie. I mean, when Rochester is begging her to stay...oh wow...definitely not that way in the book :)
