A Novel Idea: Writing Advice and Book Reviews (My first YouTube video!)

Ok, so I'm super dorkily excited. I've been working on this video for a few days and finally got it all put together and uploaded. Basically, its a collection of interviews with random people to get their ideas about what makes a book great, and what lessons other writers can take from those books to improve their own writing. I felt very nerdy collecting the interviews, but I think it turned out well, and I got some good stuff. I hope this is helpful, if it works out I plan to make this a series type thing, and do a new video every once in a while. Anyway, without further ado...

Thanks!
Sarah Allen

This is a really great idea, Sarah, I look forward to seeing more. I like that you asked the kid at the end, getting more than one age demographic in there, especially since he had such a good point.

I find myself referring back to your blog quite often because you have great tips and advice. I can also get good ideas and tips by following the people who comment on here. I posted the beginning of a story on my blog that was based on a crazy dream that I had and would love to hear your thoughts. I would have simply emailed you instead of putting that here, but I wasn't sure how to reach you. Thank you very much if you do find the time and if not, no worries!! keep on doing what you do! :)

I found it fascinating to watch others talk about their favorite books. Nice job combining all the bits together. I think you should continue on with this little project. It's beneficial not only to your readers but also to the people you interview.

Thanks guys :) Glad it worked out, it was pretty fun.

@Loopy: Sure! I'll try and stop buy asap.

@Su: I agree :) Now, a nerd AND chocolate, that would have been awesome.

This was such a great idea! I found it interesting that so many people chose classics and children's books as their favorites. The kids books seemed to especially have an impact, which is great! I look forward to your future videos. :)

Hi Sarah - well done .. as Gran says - she must be proud of you!!

Loved that you had the courage to do this .. and I listened to the whole lot ..

May I make a suggestion - that you either finish it off with a list of the books, or just say them at the end and thank the speakers .. Just an extra prod to remind us of the books they mention & being British I couldn't quite catch the accents all the time ..

Well done though - & you've obviously got a lot of followers and people who are interested in your writing and tips -

Cheers and thanks for coming over to my blog via the A - Z Challenge .. it's good to see you there and commenting .. Hilary
